(*) The Equals’ song “Baby come back” written in 1966 by Eddie Grant as a demo for President Records, was released in June 1967 as B side of “Hold me closer”. In late 1967/ early 1968 the song became a smash hit all over Europe. where the Equals performed regularly, but was ignored in Britain. The song finally could be ignored no longer and entered the UK charts on May 1st 1968 without ever having been officially released as A side. It became the Equals’ biggest hit as well as their only UK number one.
